Water pump went out on me last Fall when I was about 30 miles from home. Limped it into the closest mechanic. Replaced water pump, timing belt while he was in there and new tensioner assembly. Feb of this year water pump failed. Towed it in for warranty work. When I picked up the car it was missing and running horrible. They claimed "it was that way when you brought it in" in which I replied "so you idiots started my car when it came in knowing it had no water pump" anyway they changed their story gave it a once over and said they had no clue. Took it to my usual mechanic and he was amazed because they had it wored all wrong. 40 bucks later it was running fine.
Then played phone tag back and forth with the original shop to pay the $40. Said it wasnt their fault. My usualy mechanic even called them. They told him they never touch wires in question. He informed them they were idiots because they HAD to remove them to get to water pump. Never got reimbursed.Fast forward to last night. Water pump went out again. And when I say went out it litterally FELL OUT. The cheap pos pump shaft completely snapped. Lesson learned. Paying my normal mechanic to put OEM in. wish there was something I could do about it as far as the other people are concerned. On a bright note. I just ordered a full body kit, spoiler, race mirrors and full brake upgrade for my 83 280ZX Turbo. Going to get it painted super white.
